Speciality
Several factors make Anjarle’s Ganesh Chaturthi truly special.
Unique Idol: The Kadyavarcha Ganpati idol itself is a source of immense reverence. Devotees believe the idol is “jagrut” (alive) and possesses the power to grant wishes and bestow blessings.
Proximity to the Sea: The coastal setting adds charm to the celebrations. Devotees often immerse the idols in the Arabian Sea after the ten-day period, creating a visually stunning and spiritually significant finale.
Peaceful Ambiance: Unlike the larger cities with boisterous celebrations, Anjarle offers a more intimate and serene experience. The rhythmic chants blend with the sound of waves, creating a truly captivating atmosphere.
History
The Abode of Kadyavarcha Ganpati, Arnjarle: A Historical Gem
Anjarle’s heart beats to the rhythm of the Kadyavarcha Ganpati Temple, a revered shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesha. According to local legend, the temple dates back to the 12th century, built by the Shilahara dynasty. The unique black stone idol of Lord Ganesha with a right-handed trunk, unlike the more common left-handed ones, adds to the temple’s mystique. Perched atop a hill overlooking the serene Anjarle beach and the majestic Suvarnadurg Fort, the temple offers breathtaking panoramic views, making it a pilgrimage site and a popular tourist destination.

The temple is very beautiful, and the surrounding area is always peaceful. The right-facing trunk of Ganesh Ji’s statue makes it more attractive, and there’s a striking view of Anjarley Village, Harnai Beach, and the sea. The foot print of Ganesh Ji looks fortunate, and the temple exudes positive energy. The wheelchair-accessible board and pathway are also very helpful. Overall, the temple is very clean and well-kept.

Remains of these two temples (Ajayrayleshwar & Siddhivinayak) when there is a low tide and the water level decreases , is visible. Considering the damage caused by these natural factors (high/low tide) the Ganpati mandir was repositioned at the nearest hill top; hence the name Kadyavarcha Ganpati. 20 km far from Dapoli town. Apprach road to this temple is very narrow. during weekend lots of tourist come here to offer prayers. Complete darshan takes 15 to 30 minute. parking is limited. Neat and clean temples , even if during rush time queue moves without any push. If you believe in god then this is a must visit place if you are in Dapoli.

Very beautiful temple. First footsteps of Ganpati bappa is here. The backyard pond had 1000+ turtles which age back to decades.
